Thank you for visiting the Terms of Service for Dr Naveed Younis (Consultant Endocrinologist & Diabetologist). These terms and conditions set out the rules for your use of all services that are offered by Dr Naveed Younis, including but not limited to, medico-legal expert witness provision, private clinical consultations, clinical research leadership, and educational courses. You agree to comply with the terms before using our services. Terminology

For the purposes of these Terms of Service:

  • “Dr Naveed Younis” means Dr Naveed Younis, GMC-registered Consultant in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and General Medicine, working as a sole practitioner.
  • “Client” means any natural person, legal professional, organisation, or other body who seeks, accepts or is provided with the Services on these Terms and Conditions by Dr Naveed Younis.
  • “Services” means all professional services provided by Dr Naveed Younis whether directly or indirectly including, but not limited to, expert witness attendance, medico-legal report writing; private clinician appointments; participation in clinical research; and education.
  • “Website” means https://diabetes-dr.com/ or any sub-domains or the website managed and owned by Dr Naveed Younis.
  • “Agreement” means the agreement between Dr Naveed Younis and the Client for the provision of the Services and the acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

Acceptance of Terms

By using or accessing the services provided by Dr Naveed Younis, you acknowledge that you have read, understand and agree to these Terms of Service. You may not use our services if you do not agree with any part of these terms. These terms will apply to all service engagements or purchases whether by email, telephone or via this website. Dr Naveed Younis may modify or supplement these terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on this website or advising the Client whenever the change is by way of email.

Scope of Services

Professional services for which Dr Younis offers include:

  • Medico-legal expert witness services in diabetes and endocrinology: case reviews, report writing and court attendance.
  • Private clinical consultations for adult patients for diabetes, endocrine disorders and general internal medicine issues.
  • Leadership, participation & consultation in clinical trials related to diabetes, lipid disorders and diabetic foot management.
  • Teaching and mentoring opportunities for trainees & professionals in Endocrinology.

The above services are provided according to the requirements of each Client and subject to issues of availability, professional capacity and legal/ethical requirements.

Eligibility for Services and Client Obligations

Our eligibility for services is subject to professional judgment and applicable law. Clients are required to:

  • Be at least 18 years old when seeking services or, if not, have a parent or legal guardian initiate services;
  • Provide truthful and complete information at the time of a request for services;
  • Use the services lawfully and refrain from conduct inconsistent with rules of professional conduct;
  • Advise us immediately after any changes in personal or case information we may have relied upon in connection with the request for services; and
  • In medico-legal cases, make certain that instructions and documents furnished to us as part of the engagement are accurate and reflect the circumstances of the case.

Engagement Process and Services

Clients may initiate engagement for provision of services by contacting Dr Naveed Younis by email [email protected] or mobile (+1) (206) 304-3209 during normal working hours (Monday – Friday 08:00-17:00). On initial enquiry, Clients will be advised of the services available, the nature and extent of any engagement and how to proceed. In respect of some services, Clients may need to sign an engagement letter or formal agreement setting out the specific terms, aims and responsibilities of both parties. At all times Dr Naveed Younis has the right to refuse to accept any engagement at his sole discretion, if a conflict of interest or other ethical issue arises.

Assessments and Clinical Services

Private clinical consultations are offered for individuals seeking expert assessment and management of endocrine, diabetic and general internal medicine conditions. Clinical consultations may be in person or through secure telemedicine channels according to Client preference and jurisdictional practice requirements. All clinical services are provided according to the highest professional standards of medical practice with full respect for patient confidentiality. Clients are required to provide accurate medical histories and supporting documentation as requested. Investigations and follow up appointments or treatment are scheduled accordingly as clinically appropriate. Patients requiring emergency attention should present themselves at the nearest provincial health centre or emergency service.

Medico-Legal and Expert Witness Services

Dr. Naveed Younis offers medico-legal services to legal professionals, including solicitors and courts, focusing on diabetes and endocrinology. His services encompass expert opinions, case reviews, report writing, and court appearances. Each engagement is conducted formally, detailing case specifics, evidence scope, and timelines. Dr. Younis maintains independence and impartiality while adhering to all pertinent legal and professional standards. Reports and testimonies are delivered based on the best interpretation of the evidence available, and are provided in good faith.

Research and Training Services

Alongside his clinical and medico-legal commitments, Dr Naveed Younis undertakes clinical research trials and educational activities. Clinical research services include participation as a principal or co-investigator, or subcontractor for studies involving diabetes, lipid disorders or diabetic foot management. Educational activities are aimed at medical trainees, healthcare professionals and organisations requiring specialist education or mentorship in endocrinology. Participation in research or education activity is by agreement subject to ethics approvals (if applicable) and any institutional regulations.

Service Fees and Payment Conditions

Fees for professional services rendered by Dr Naveed Younis are proportionate to the nature and extent of the work undertaken, as outlined upon request. All charges are detailed up-front before any undertaking commences. Medico-legal and expert witness fee schedules include hourly rates for preparation, travel and attendance at court, as well as fixed fees for report writing or consultations. Private clinical consultation is charged per appointment or treatment course, as agreed. Payment terms for professional services include the timeframe, payment method, timing of invoices and payment scheduling, as specified in any engagement agreement. If payments are delayed, interest may be charged accordingly or the provision of professional services is subject to suspension until accounts are cleared.

Cancellations, Rescheduling and Refunds

Clients seeking to cancel and/or reschedule a clinical appointment are required to give 48 hours’ notice, while 7 days’ notice is required for medico-legal and/or educational sessions. Depending on the time frame within which cancellation or rescheduling is requested, a refund or rescheduling without charge may apply. Otherwise, a cancellation charge may apply for late cancellations and no-shows as outlined in the service agreement and/or provided at the time of booking. Fees that are paid in advance are refunded upon prompt request, in accordance with the agreement(s) governing the engagement in question and applicable legislation or case authority. Extenuating circumstances (e.g., medical emergencies) will be taken into consideration on an individual basis.

Confidentiality and Information Security

Dr Naveed Younis is dedicated to maintaining the confidentiality of all Clients and the safety of personal, medical, and case information. All information received in the course of providing services is treated in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Data Protection Act, and applicable privacy laws of the US where relevant. Data is collected solely for the purpose of delivering services, responding to inquiries, and other legal obligations. Personal information is not shared with any third parties except as required by law or with the Clients’ informed consent. Professional Performance and Duty of Care

Dr Naveed Younis maintains the highest standards of practice, whether clinical, academic or professional levels. All services are provided in accordance with the Good Medical Practice guidelines of the General Medical Council, as well as under any and all other applicable statutory or other regulatory provisions. Duty of care is undertaken at all times, based upon integrity, impartiality and using evidence-based practice. Professional indemnity insurance cover is in place for all clinical and medico-legal work. Should any issue arise regarding the quality of service or conduct of provision, the Clients of Dr Naveed Younis are urged to contact him directly in an attempt to resolve the matter.

Client Obligations and Behaviour

Clients of Dr Naveed Younis requiring a service agree to:

  • Provide accurate and true information relating to the service sought;
  • Give timely notice of any changes in circumstance or circumstances which may alter the conduct of their case;
  • Deal with Dr Naveed Younis and all his employees or consultants in a courteous and professional manner;
  • Abide by all of the terms and conditions of the service(s) requested from Dr Naveed Younis, and to pay promptly all fees owing to Dr Naveed Younis under such agreements;
  • Refrain from any types of abusive, threatening or illegal behaviour in their relationship with Dr Naveed Younis.

Dr Naveed Younis may suspend or terminate any service at his discretion in the event of violation of the above.

Intellectual Property Rights

Any content, reports, educational materials, research data and documentation provided or published by Dr Naveed Younis remains the sole intellectual property of Dr Naveed Younis unless otherwise stipulated in writing. Clients may use this material only for the purpose it was given to them, and may not copy or distribute it without written permission or adapt it in any way. Any unauthorized use of intellectual property may lead to prosecution.

Limitation of Liability and Indemnity

To the full extent permitted by applicable law, Dr Naveed Younis shall have no liability of any type, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), equity or otherwise, to the Client for any indirect or consequential loss or damage of any kind, or special damages such as loss of profits, data or reputation resulting from the use or inability to use the services. The total liability of Dr Naveed Younis for any claim arising out of, or in connection with the provision of services shall not exceed the amount paid by the Client under that claim. This does not exclude liability for personal injury or death arising from negligence, fraud or for a matter for which liability may not be properly excluded by law.

Dr Naveed Younis has no control over and is not responsible for the content, accuracy or practices of any such third party sites. Complaints and Conflict Resolution

Dr Naveed Younis works to provide a high standard of service and welcomes feedback from Clients. If you are not satisfied with any aspect of services provided, please write to us outlining your concern or complaint to [email protected] or call us on (206) 304-3209 and we will work to respond promptly to your concern. We will aim to resolve all complaints within 5 working days, and do so fairly and as quickly as possible. If a prompt resolution cannot be achieved following direct communication with us, Clients also have the option of seeking independent mediation or pursuing remedies through professional bodies or the courts where relevant.

Termination of Services

Either party may terminate the services engagement, by giving written notice according to the cancellation provisions above or as set forth in the engagement for services contract. Dr Naveed Younis shall have an immediate right to terminate or suspend the services if there is non-payment, or breach of these terms, conflict of interest, or it is otherwise required by law or regulatory guidance. In the event of termination, all outstanding fees become payable immediately and all material or data shall be treated in compliance with applicable obligations under data protection laws.

Force Majeure

Dr Naveed Younis will have no liability for the failure or delay in performance of any of its obligations arising under or in connection with these terms and conditions which is caused by a circumstance beyond the reasonable control of Dr Naveed Younis, including but not limited to natural disaster, war, acts of terrorism, acts of God or government action or technical failure. In those circumstances, affected parties will be notified as soon as possible and efforts will be made to resume affected services and/or alternative arrangements will be put in place.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Agreement, including, without limitation, any dispute or claim arising out of or relating to its subject matter, is governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States without regard to principles of conflict of laws, except to the extent governed by federal law. Client agrees that exclusive jurisdiction and venue for any claim or action as a result of these Terms and Conditions shall be with the state and/or federal courts located in Seattle, WA, United States. If Services are performed within the United Kingdom, applicable United Kingdom laws and regulations may apply.

Severability and Entire Agreement

If any portion of these Terms of Use is found to be void or unenforceable, the remainder will remain in full force and effect. These terms of use embody the entire agreement between Dr Naveed Younis and the Client in connection with the provision of services and supersede all previous agreements, representations or understandings. No waiver or modification agreed may be relied upon unless made by letter between both parties.

Amendments to Terms and Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms of Service”) are subject to change from time to time by the Company, at its discretion. Such changes may be made at any time and it is the responsibility of the Customer to review these Terms of Service for any changes periodically. Continuing to provide services or utilizing the services after said changes are published on the Company’s website shall constitute agreement to said changes. The date of last modification is shown at the end of this document.

Acknowledgment and Acceptance

By using the services of Dr Naveed Younis, you agree to read, understand and accept these Terms of Service. You confirm your agreement to honour all statutory, procedural and other practice policies and procedures and legal obligations, whether formal or otherwise, as may be required in consideration for use of our services. Effective Date
